Meet the Armstead Family!

We purchased our first home in June 2012 and I knew that our journey of making a house into a home was about to take place. I want the people close to us to be able to share in all the fun and exciting things going on in the Armstead house. I also started this blog as a way to share our journey as new parents, new frugalers & my love of DIY projects/crafts with all my family and friends. I also wanted to share my easy budget friendly home renovations and projects!  Our dream is to transform our new cookie cutter home into something truly unique and inspirational!

I grew up in Buckeye, Arizona which is a small town just west of Phoenix. I loved living in a small town so much that I decided to stay! Our home is just minutes away from where I grew up and I would not have it any other way.  My family is the most important thing in my life, so there is no where else I would rather be. I grew up with my older sister and we were lucky enough to have a stay-at-mom.  My mom is behind all my crafting and DIY ability.  She taught me everything I know and continues to guide me along the way.  My mom wasn't the only crafter in our household though.  My dad is also an amazing craftsman, he built everything from our cribs to cabinets! You name it he can do it.  Crafting and DIY projects aren't my only specialty, I absolutely adore cooking & broke out the pots & pans before I could even read.  Even though my son keeps me pretty busy I try my hardest to find time to do as much baking as I possibly can.

Ben Armstead - The Hubster

My husband and I met back in June 2007, fell in love, and I guess the rest is history! He is definitely an amazing man, especially if he can put up with my never ending projects & coupon clipping. We got married in November 2010 and instantly knew we wanted to start a family.  There is nothing better than marrying your best friend and falling more in love every day.

on September 26, 2011 which is just shy of our one year anniversary (can you say honeymoon baby!)

Our son is absolutely the center of our world! Even though the main purpose of this blog is to help showcase our DIY home transformation & new found budget lifestyle, be aware of several Barrett related posts.  He is our every thing and we could not be more happy with our amazing family!

I really hope that you follow us on our journey of becoming new parents, home owners & new frugalers; because our story is just beginning!  Our life... with a side if inspiration XOXO
